Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Today was the start of a very busy week for us! Valentine's Day celebrations today, it was the kick-off to the Greek Olympics for Jack's 6th grade and Sean was finally the star student of the week! Whew! Once we get through this busy week we will certainly need the week off from school next week.

I found really cute coupons for the kids and put one in each of their lunchboxes. Jack's said he could pick out one new book at the bookstore (but he is going to pick out a new title on amazon to put on his kindle). Kieran's said he could go to the store with me and pick out any snack for the family that he wanted. I see cheese doodles and mint chocolate chip ice cream in my near future! And Kate's said that she could stay up one hour later past bedtime on a weekend night. Sean's said he could go get sesame chicken with mom one day for lunch! They loved their coupons so much that I am going to have to do them more often!

Since we had daisies this afternoon, I set the table for our special valentine's dinner this afternoon and it looked adorable. I put the kids gift cards to East End Dippity under their heart dinner plates. And put their box of chocolate on top. Homemade sauce with pasta, homemade bread (well made in the bread machine! LOL) and pink cupcakes and pink lemonade for dinner. John got a gift card to Bass Pro Shops and he brought me home yummy chocolates.

The kids were so excited to go through all their valentines and candy from school. Sean especially, since it was his first year in pre-k and he has seen the older kids come home with valentines and candy year after year.

Well, tomorrow I am heading to the school to watch Jack compete in Jeopardy and then Sean has a McDonalds playdate with Sydney and Kate has the dentist and a friend coming over after school. Did I mention this week was going to be busy? LOL!

Still trying.....

Well, several months ago I was inspired to start a blog because I enjoy reading a few blogs so much that I became envious of the fact that they are recording their lives.

Then, after the first post, I never came back. That feels like so many things in my life these days. With four kids I feel like I am always doing something off my never-ending list and so many things are put off or forgotten. But I caught a glimpse of a photo the other day of Jack when he was Katie's age and I was struck by how much I had forgotten about what he was like at that age.

I pride myself on loving the age that they are at. Enjoying them for who they are now...not the babies they were, or the person they will become. But all the same, I am afraid for the day when they are no longer living with me and I can't remember why I was so busy, what I was doing, or how they sounded at each age. I have thousands of photos of them....but no real record of our day to day lives, the things we do, things we say, fun and tears that we experience.

So, I'm back. And hopefully as soon as I figure out how to post photos I can begin to record my life as a stay at home (but mostly in the car) mom of four kids who loves her life as much as I could have ever hoped to.
